It's. Finally. DONE. Well, to done to the point that it's appropriate for presentation.
I've been doing a lot of messy drawings lately, and wanted to make something that looked more refined. And I also wanted to do a background. Didn't quite get around to that; after several botched attempts at painting that wheat field, I finally settled for what you're seeing now. Maybe if I'm bored tomorrow I'll get around to fixing that.
I also played around with more subtle color variations and reflective lighting for different surfaces, like Chell's hair and the white metallic parts of CC's outfit. It turned out okay, but again, I think I need to have more contrast in this drawing. I ended up adjusting the levels (again) to fix that problem. It's getting to be a bad habit. Anatomy, especially for Chell, is questionable. At this point I am too tired to go back and fix it though. P:
Well, enough about the technical aspects. I drew this because...well, I wanted to draw something cute rather than morbid for once. And I also wanted to draw the humanized Companion Cube I designed earlier in the week.
So I played Portal 1 recently (loved the game) and I've been doing a little snooping around in Portal fan groups around the net. What is it about the companion cube that people have so much affection for? It's just like all the other cubes except you take it with you for a while. I actually didn't hesitate when I found out that there was no other way to get through that door besides incinerating the cube. Great picture though! And nice colouring
Companion cube has some very interesting trousers.
