FAQ

:bulletblack: What are your tools of the trade?

My beginning sketches can be either traditional or digital, though leaning more towards the former. At the painting stage, I always use Photoshop CS6 on a Wacom Intuos5 tablet.

:bulletblack: What content are you not wiling to draw?

Requests for sexually explicit or excessively violent content will be declined. Suggestive content, however, is negotiable.

:bulletblack: What are your rights as the artist?
  • I have the right to decline a request or adjust the price based on the terms of your commission (e.g. personal or commercial)
  • I reserve the rights to publish my work online. The usual places will be dA, Tumblr, and, on some occasions, my personal website.
  • I have the right to pause or cancel a commission. In the event that I am unable to finish a commission, a full refund will be provided regardless of progress made in the piece.
:bulletblack: What are my rights as the client?
  • You have the right to stop me from distributing your commissioned image for monetary profit (e.g. prints, t-shirts, pillows, etc.).
  • You have the right, within reason, to ask me to make major changes (e.g. pose, appearance, color scheme, etc.) BEFORE you give me the final O.K. to finish the commissioned piece. Any big revisions afterwards will be charged an additional 20%.
:bulletblack: What is your work flow?
  • Receive commission information from client.
  • Client sends reference material.
  • Commission OK'ed. Client pays 50% up front via Paypal.
  • I do studies of the character(s) which lead up to the sketch. I will email a low-res version to the client for approval.
  • After approval of sketch, Client will pay 25% via Paypal. NOTE: Any big revisions (e.g. change in pose, appearance, color scheme, etc.) requested AFTER approval is given will be charged 15% extra.
  • I will refine and complete the piece, then send a low-res version to the client for approval.
  • After approval, client will pay the final 25% via Paypal.
  • I will send the high-res version of the piece to the client.
:bulletblack: How long does it take to finish the commission?

I usually finish within a month. This also depends on the frequency of our correspondence -- I will not move onto the next stage of the commission without payment or client approval.

:bulletblack: Why are the prices so high?
For dA commissions, I already charge less than my professional rates. I realize that this may be a drain on your wallet for some of you, but to lower the prices further means I would undersell myself.
